Sunday, March 10: Since we had to check out of our room by ten, we were up before eight. After breakfast, we put our luggage in storage and took the Paseo Inferior to see the part we had not covered on the way to the boat yesterday. It was a very hot and humid day, though, so we soon headed back for the air conditioned hotel. Around noon we walked over to the Old Hotel Bar near the National Park entrance and had hamburgesas for lunch under the tall trees. I managed to get a couple Brazilian coins and one bill from the waiter. (The waiters in the Italian restaurant in Brazil had refused to give us our change in Brazilian money.)

Back at our hotel we were joined in the lobby by the Gonzales sisters, and we had a nice talk. Wilson arrived at 2:35 and got us to the airport before three for our 4:10 flight. The flight was on time and we arrived in Buenos Aires at six. Carlos met us and drove us to our condo. He and Norma had gone there earlier to get the key (since the office closed at six). They had stocked our unit with bread, butter, instant coffee, orange juice, yogurt, and bottled water. In addition to the one bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette, there was a nice sized living room with three single beds and a dining area.

Carlos asked if we had been to Mass. When we said no, he offered to go with us. We found that he, his friends (especially Marta), and apparently most Argentines were deeply religious. Carlos walked us to the Monserat Cathedral on the next block where we all attended 7:30 Mass. We were fascinated to learn that the church offered classes in English, guitar, Spanish dance, cake decoration, yoga, and computers.

After Mass, Carlos walked us around the neighborhood, pointing out three Italian restaurants within a block. After he left, we chose Le Famiglie. It was almost completely empty at 8:40 when we entered, but by 9:30 it was crowded. Our waiter only spoke Spanish but was very helpful. We split a large salad and, due to a misunderstanding, also split an order of noquis (gnocchi) when we had each wanted an order. It was enough, though. Returning to the Condo, we unpacked and went to bed after eleven.
