I served with the Army in the former Republic of Vietnam from 1 July 1968 to 1 July 1969.  I was assigned as Staff Judge Advocate of the 4th Infantry Division at Camp Enari, a few miles south of Pleiku City in the Central Highlands.  I wasn't there as a tourist, and carrying a bulky 35 mm camera was neither appropriate nor practical most of the time.  Nevertheless, I did manage to take more than 100 color slides.  Unfortunately, after 40 years, they have deteriorated greatly and Photoshop was only partially successful in restoring them.

The pictures are divided into five categories, some with subcategories:

Arrival in Vietnam
90th Replacement Battalion in Long Binh

I was here five days, much longer than normal.
This was the most unpleasant part of my entire stay in Vietnam.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here !

Some of the barracks

There was a PX, but with little to offer
